Family photo shoots fascinate me because families are like fingerprints: every single one is unique.
I’ve photographed families of every color, of all ages, single generations and multiple generations. I’ve shot family portraits with as many as thirty people and as few as two. In fact, now that I think about it, even fewer — I’ve photographed many a family comprised of one person and their beloved dog. I’ve had the great honor of photographing many of my clients multiple times over the years, and have born witness with my camera as their families expanded and their babies became children. I’ve photographed families in my studio, at iconic NYC landmarks, at the beach, in the park, at their homes, on their vacations, on slides, at ice rinks, in pools, playing in fountains. After a decade of family photography, I still can’t tell you exactly what will happen at the next family shoot. And that’s why I love my job.
